DEF ANNOUNCES MUSIC LEGEND FOR SOLD OUT ‘DIAMONDS DO GOOD’ LAS VEGAS

TO PERFORM 
AT THE SOLD OUT ‘DIAMONDS DO GOOD’ CELEBRATION IN LAS VEGAS

 

Ten-time GRAMMY® Award winner Chaka Khan will be the headline performer at the Diamond Empowerment Fund’s (D.E.F) Diamonds in the Sky Las Vegas Gala to take place at the Four Seasons Ballroom on May 29. The sold-out event starts at 6:30 p.m. and will honor President Khama and the Government of Botswana with the Global Diamond Industry Achievement Award and celebrate the good diamonds do for communities around the world.

Ms. Khan understands the importance of ‘doing good while doing well.’ In 1999 she established the Chaka Khan Foundation, which focuses on programs and initiatives that 
assist women and children at risk. A musical superstar, Ms. Khan has the rare ability to sing in eight music genres, including R&B, jazz, pop, rock, gospel, country, classical and dance music. She has released 22 albums with ten #1 Billboard magazine charted songs. 

Phyllis Bergman, president of D.E.F’s board of directors, says, “We couldn’t be more 
honored to have such a musical legend perform at this important event that recognizes 
the importance of giving back.”

The Trade-Only Event is Hosted at the Paris Las Vegas, May 29 - June 1 

For the 18th year, dealers from more than 20 countries will gather in Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show. The event is hosted by U.S. Antique Shows, the world’s leading producer of indoor antique shows, May 29 - June 1, 2014 at the Paris Hotel and Casino.

“We’re thrilled to continue to host our event in Las Vegas and acquaint the trade community with today’s latest jewelry trends,” says Dan Darby, Emerald Expositions vice president and U.S. Antique Shows group show director. “We’ve made some notable improvements this year like refiguring the show’s floor plan to allow dealers an increase in booth size to showcase more of their merchandise.”

The four day, trade-only show features the largest selection of antique jewelry and watches, including the latest spring trends straight from the runway. Items include gold chains, retro watches, cuff bracelets, colored diamonds, floral statement pieces and more. Attendees will also be able to purchase an array of merchandise from the Renaissance to Modern periods. 


Prominent dealers from as far away as France, India, Netherlands and Singapore are just a few represented at this year’s show. Anshul Rakyan, director of the Germany-based antique jewelry and fine gemstone house, Global Gems, comments on being part of the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show.

“We have been exhibiting at the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show for almost two
decades. It’s a great meeting point to meet American clients as well as other dealers from
around the world,” says Rakyan. “Our signed jewels as well as European antique jewelry and
object of arts will be a highlight for this year. Furthermore, our collection of natural pearls and old-cut diamonds is always something special. We are looking forward to Vegas.”

Show times are Thursday, May 29 to Saturday, May 31 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 1 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Luxury Turkish jewelry designer Pinar Oner of Pinar Oner Design Atelier is offering an incredible show special to qualified buyers at The Couture Show to be held at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas May 29 – June 2, 2014.

Wanting to share the lavish richness of Istanbul with their buyers and distributors who purchase $15,000 or more in Pinar’s jewels, Pinar Oner Design Atelier will host two people at 5 Star hotel accommodations in Istanbul, Turkey for 6 days and 5 nights. A trained graphic designer with a BA from Bilkent University in Turkey and further education from the Parsons The New School of Design in New York, Pinar Oner is influenced by the history and heritage of the Anatolian region of Turkey. She draws inspiration from the folklore, artifacts and diverse religious influences of the area to create unique and fresh design elements and stylistic motifs. Creating her jewels in high karat gold, her collections glow with the vibrant colors of gemstones and intricate enameling accent work.  

The company, Pinar Oner Design Atelier, was launched in March of 2010, and has already garnered international acclaim as a winner of one of the coveted 2013 Couture Design
